Education, Attraction and Outreach

The YGN aims to inspire the next generation of nuclear professionals. To do this the Education, Attraction and Outreach (EAO) Committee coordinates activities to reach young people and attract them to the nuclear sector. This includes students, apprentices and schoolchildren.

YGN volunteers play an active role in outreach activity, from activity sessions delivered to schools and small groups to national science fairs engaging with thousands of children and the general public.

The YGN EAO team are keen to engage with potential industry sponsors for The Big Bang Fair in 2026 (dates TBC). The Big Bang Fair inspires the next generation with hands-on activities, experiments, and workshops. The UK’s biggest celebration of STEM for schools at The NEC in Birmingham.

We believe partnering with the YGN for this event would be mutually beneficial and we welcome the possibility of cross-sector collaboration with industry sponsors and YGN at Big Bang to inspire the next generation. Your company will help increase the visibility of nuclear energy as an exciting, growing industry full of career opportunities. If you think your company could be a potential sponsor, or to find out more please contact our Sponsorship and Sales Lead at sponsorship.ygn@nuclearinst.com
