Equality & Diversity

At the Nuclear Institute we take equality and diversity seriously. We have taken measures to ensure that our structures and practices reflect the diversity of our membership, and that we are part of the industry-wide move that seeks equality for underrepresented groups. This is driven by our EDI Committee, which reviews and make recommendations for the updating of NI policies around equality, diversity and inclusion.

Our actions include:

  • Established an EDI Board that directly advises our Board of Trustees
  • Held the first diversity in the nuclear industry survey which kicked off in 2020
  • Produced our first diversity report in Nuclear Future in 2022
How to get involved

We continue to look for ways that we can improve in this area and always welcome feedback in this regard. If you are interested in getting involved or have ideas and best practice to share, please get in touch.

Possible ways you could get involved are:

  • Nominate someone to sit on our EDI Board
  • Sponsor a wider diversity report for publication
  • Submit a case study on your approach to diversity for our website to showcase good practice
