Small Modular Reactors Special Interest Group

About

Chair: Amritpal Agar

The purpose of the Small Modular Reactor Special Interest Group (SMR SIG) is to support the development and deployment of small modular reactors, being any nuclear reactor technology to be deployed at sub-gigawatt scales with a modular build approach, in the UK.

The SMR SIG brings together relevant experts and interested parties to develop thought leadership on matters within its scope of interest. In this way, the SIG can provide advice to both the public and private sectors on how to maximise the potential of SMRs and overcome the associated challenges.

  • Build methodology;
  • Licensing;
  • Financing;
  • Co-generation;
  • Fleet operation; and
  • International deployment.
