We are pleased to announce that Intro to Project Management will be returning in 2022 face to face for the first time in over 2 years!

 

Delegates will have the opportunity to gain an overview of the project profession from experts across the nuclear industry and beyond. The event will give delegates valuable tools and guidance as they begin their project careers.

An agenda will be available soon. Previous talks include the basic fundamentals to making the perfect business case, gaining an understanding of risk management and project delivery methods.

Alastair Laird - PT&C International Managing Director

Mega Project Uncertainty and Risk – GDF Case Study

Alastair is a past President of the European Nuclear Society and Board member of the UK Nuclear Institute.  He has a degree in Nuclear Physics from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow.  He has 30 years of experience in the nuclear sector and has worked on five licenced nuclear sites.  He has spent 15 years in project and programme management working for Sellafield, Magnox,  the UK Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and latterly EDF-Energy setting up the AGR decommissioning programme.

Rachel Strickland- Senior Project Manager at UKAEA

STEP Programme Case Study

A determined and dedicated senior project manager with a diverse range of technical and project management skills. She has a degree in Chemistry from the University of Warwick and has 11 years of experience in the nuclear sector. She is currently a senior project manager at UKAEA (UK Atomic Energy Authority), a group leader within the Programme and Projects Management Office and leads on the delivery of the concept design workstream of the STEP (Spherical Tokamak for Energy Production) programme.

Andrew is a career Project Manager and has worked within the Nuclear Industry for the last 16 years.  He has a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Project Management and has applied these studies to a wide range of Projects ranging through engineering fuel recovery in Ponds, breaking entry to contained facilities and developing and testing Security Software Systems.  He has worked for both client and contractor and is currently employed by Atkins working as the Programme Delivery Manager for The Decommissioning Alliance.
