NE Region First Annual Dinner

Later that evening, the North East Branch first annual dinner took place at Sedgefield’s Hardwick Hall Hotel. The event was attended by over 70 people who enjoyed the entertainment of a magician prior to dinner being served.

The evening’s keynote speech was delivered by Tim Chittenden. The after-dinner guest speaker was Simon Parsons of EDF Energy, Hartlepool Power Station. Simon, who is the station director, enthusiastically shared the challenges he was faced with during the Double Reactor Outage (DRO) late last year. His speech was reassuring and encouraging and received a great ovation from the audience.

The dinner created an excellent opportunity for the nuclear professionals in the region to network with like minded people in a less formal setting.

Overall, the event was a resounding success with many of the attendees taking away valuable information relating to the nuclear industry/ market
