Radioactive waste consultation- RWM

RWM is inviting views from organisations and individuals on its approach to evaluating the suitability of sites for a GDF – one consultation for England and one for Wales. The consultation documents are designed to summarise, in simple and understandable terms, the broad types of issues that RWM needs to consider with respect to the suitability of a site.

Over the coming weeks, there will be a number of public events around the country to give more information, hear your views and answer questions.

We also have a series of meetings around the country (there is a link through from the consultation home pages). People should pre-register at siteevaluation@nda.gov.uk With the exception of London and Manchester, each venue has two events for people to choose from (afternoon from 12.00-3.00 and evening 6.00-9.00). The London and Manchester events will run from 10am-4pm. They are free to attend and refreshments will be provided at all the events.

There are eight consultation events in England and two in Wales:
  • Thursday 7 February – Cambridge (afternoon and evening)
  • Wednesday 13 February – Westminster, London (10am-4pm)
  • Thursday 14 February – Birmingham (afternoon and evening)
  • Tuesday 19 February – Manchester (10am-4pm)
