NI President launches N-Group at Nuclear UK Conference

Rear Admiral Tim Chittenden, Nuclear Institute President, delivered an introductory speech at the Nuclear UK Event which launched a new collaboration between nuclear organisations.

The N-Group brings together national organisations from across the nuclear sector to become "The Voice of a Leading Nuclear Nation." Collectively, the N-Group represents all sectors of the UK nuclear industry and N-Group members have, between them, the credibility to speak with authority on any aspect of the nuclear sector.

Organisations currently involved are the National Nuclear Laboratory (NNL), the National Skills Academy for Nuclear (NSAN), the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (NAMRC), the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA), Nuclear Industry Association (NIA), the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) and the Nuclear Institute (NI).

NI President Tim Chittenden, said: "All partners are here for the long term and for the good of the UK PLC.  All have many years of nuclear experience with established opinions on the industry which are based on extensive engagement with the sector. The NI are very much looking forward to working together with N-Group in the interest of the UK and government."

The majority of these N-Group organisations spoke at the Nuclear UK Event, a not-for-profit conference and networking day organised by industry, for industry. The forum was held in Warrington, the birthplace of the UK’s nuclear industry and the home of British nuclear science, on 25th June 2014.
