The Role

The Head of Project Management is a crucial role at the heart of the Magnox organisation. As the primary operational lead for the Project Management function you will spearhead the design, development and implementation of project management improvements in support of programmes and projects to ensure Magnox business needs are met.  The postholder will develop, own and implement Project Management standards and processes.  In addition you will provide a resource management capability that matrixes Project Managers out to the Programme Managers and Site Closure Directors to support the delivery of the Magnox programme portfolio. You will utilise your extensive experience in delivering technically challenging, large-scale projects to lead on the development and implementation of project delivery improvement activities, including the continuation of efforts to transform an operational organisation into a project delivery organisation. You will set training and performance standards and lead project manager development efforts, as well as project health reviews to ensure compliance with organisational standards.

In this diverse and challenging position, you will be at the vanguard of driving cultural change across the Magnox organisation, shifting approach from erational focus to a project management ethos, embedding ownership of quality, cost and schedule pressures.

To be successful in this role you must have gained significant experience of managing and successfully delivering complex projects and programmes across multisite operations, ideally gained within a complex regulatory environment.  You will have extensive experience in commercial engineering, project management and be versed in Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.You will possess the ability to lead, mentor and influence team behaviours, focusing on leading change and improvement initiatives and driving consistency across the Magnox organisation in collaboration with the wider NDA organisation.  You will bring a track record of leading change across a geographically dispersed workforce.
