MMI Engineering appoints new Resilience Practice Leader

One of the UK’s leading providers of technical consulting and engineering services - MMI Engineering (MMI) - has announced the appointment of a new Resilience Practice Leader to drive the company’s organisational and asset resilience practices.

Stepping into the role at the Warrington based firm is Caroline Field, who brings with her extensive knowledge having over 20 years’ professional experience in the industry, including 15 years specializing in structural resilience to extreme events,12 of which were based in the United States.

Most recently Caroline held the position of Associate Director at BuroHappold Engineering where she managed the Risk & Resilience team, holding a successful track record in implementing resilience strategies to protect against natural and manmade hazards and stresses such as climate change, urbanization and globalization. 

Chartered with the ICE, Caroline is a licensed Professional Engineer in California, and a member of several industry bodies including ASCE and the Register of Security Engineers and Specialists (RSES). She is currently deputy chair of the BSI’s city resilience standard publication and co-chair of the ASCE IRD SPEED committee focusing on community resilience.

MMI works closely with its clients to deliver a holistic approach to ensure they are in a strong position to thrive within a disruptive and changing environment. Managing Director at MMI, John Evans, believes that Caroline’s innovative and comprehensive approach to resilience takes a balance of physical mitigations with adaptive capacity, whilst also considering shocks and stresses, incorporating future trends analysis, which will help the company’s clients to thrive in the face of change and disruption.

And joining Caroline at MMI is her former colleague Richard Look, who will be stepping into the role of Senior Consultant. Having over 16 years’ experience in developing a solid grounding in the concepts and applications of resilience, most recently working at Burohappold, Richard will play an integral role in bolstering the company’s resilience practice.
