Bursaries available covering registration for NPC2016

The organising committee of NPC2016 (the 20th International Conference on Water Chemistry of Nuclear Plant Reactors) is pleased to announce a number of bursaries covering conference registration are available for students from UK and Ireland universities and for career starters from developing nuclear nations. These bursaries are kindly sponsored by the British and Irish Association for the Properties of Water and Steam and the Royal Society of Chemistry- Energy Sector.

More details can be found below and on the NPC2016 delegate registration page.

British and Irish Association for the Properties of Water and Steam (BIAPWS)

The organising committee is pleased to announce that the British and Irish Association for the Properties of Water and Steam (BIAPWS) is kindly supporting a number of bursaries to cover the cost of conference registration for students in full-time education at UK or Ireland Universities. Bursaries will be considered for eligible applicants on a first-come-first-served basis.

BIAPWS aims to advance the knowledge in the properties of water, steam and aqueous systems, particularly those of interest to industry. BIAPWS is the leading representative body for Power Plant Chemistry in the UK and Ireland. Affiliated to IAPWS (International Association for the Properties of Water and Steam) we share objectives to advance knowledge in common areas of interest and provide the internationally accepted formulations for the properties of steam, water and other aqueous solutions.

Members include universities, research institutes and other industrial companies with knowledge being shared through our regular organized meetings and symposia.

Royal Society of Chemistry- Energy Sector

The Energy Sector of the Royal Society of Chemistry is offering a bursary to cover the registration fee of a select number of delegates from nuclear developing countries. This bursary is aimed primarily at students and professionals in the early stages of their careers.

To apply for bursaries please contact npc2016@nuclearinst.com with a cover letter explaining your interest in attending the conference and proof of student/ career status.

NPC2016

The International Conference on Water Chemistry of Nuclear Reactor Systems series started as the Bournemouth Conference on Water Chemistry of Nuclear Reactor Systems in the UK in 1977, and has since become a regular feature of the international conference calendar taking place every two years in Asia, Europe or North America. In 2016, the 20th Nuclear Plant Chemistry Conference, NPC 2016, is coming back to the UK after a long absence and will be hosted in the historic coastal resort of Brighton.

The conference provides a forum for engineers and scientists from universities, research institutes, service organisations and utilities to discuss the challenges of water chemistry control and improvement of material integrity in current and future nuclear power plant operation.
