The Nuclear Institute’s “Technology Supply Chain in Action” event was held at two venues across the day ahead of the NI Cumbria branch dinner on 11th February 2016.

Co-sponsored by National Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) and Sellafield Ltd, the day began with a conference at the Energus facility in West Cumbria. Research organisations, Tier 2 contractors, Small-Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and universities responded to the request to participate and were able to showcase their technologies and research at Energus. Poster presentations and table-top devices were evident alongside their enthusiastic promoters! During the conference, poster sessions were interspersed with talks on Innovation from industry and the supply chain.

In the afternoon, around 50 of the delegates moved to NNL’s Workington Laboratory to see a number of technologies being showcased by NNL, Studsvik, Nuvia, James Fisher Nuclear, Kuka Systems (UK), Antech and the University Of Manchester’s Dalton Cumbrian Facility.”
