Making Virtual A Reality – Central England Branch Christmas Lecture
Central England Branch hosted a special Christmas lecture entitled 'Making Virtual A Reality', hosted by Trevor Chambers and Ben Nash. This entertaining and interactive lecture described the application of emergent consumer-grade virtual reality systems in the nuclear industry.
Volunteers were able to experience the VR simulator used for training purposes for the core support structure dismantling. The training tool had been modified for the presentation to incorporate a festive feel; helping Santa round up the reindeer and to fill Santa’s sack with presents.
Finally, Santa himself made an appearance to share some goodies with the volunteers and wish all well for the festive season.
