ASSOSCIATE LECTURER IN NUCLEAR

Salary: £25.29 - £28.67 per class contact hour

Location: National College for Nuclear, Cannington Campus, Bridgwater TA5 2LS

Bridgwater & Taunton College are looking for an outstanding individual to join our National College for Nuclear (NCfN) southern hub delivery team. As an Associate Lecturer in the National College for Nuclear you will be responsible for the delivery of training and assessment for a range programmes & qualifications.  The role will involve designing delivery material development, training, assessment and course delivery, this may also include delivery in the workplace.

This role applies to individuals with or without educational training experience as support and training will be given to the successful candidate. You will be a motivated and enthusiastic professional, proactive student-centred individual who can provide expertise to further enhance, teaching, learning, assessment and curriculum development. You must have subject expertise in one or more of the following areas with specialist knowledge gained through industry experience or professional practice.

  • Project Control/Management
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering

A strong awareness of health and safety procedures and how to help maintain standards and minimise hazards in the workplace is also required for this demanding role.  Although not essential, it would be advantageous to have some experience of training and assessing.

Bridgwater & Taunton College will be the principal delivery arm of the National College for Nuclear southern hub, supported by its Energy Skills and Advanced Engineering Centres, the Construction Skills and Innovation Centre at Cannington, a new University Centre in Taunton, the South West Nuclear Hub for research and innovation at Bristol University, Nuclear South West in Bristol and Campus – EDF’s unique national training centre at Cannington.

The £15m capital investment provides a state-of-the-art nuclear training facility, including a virtual reality environment, a reactor simulator and computer-equipped training rooms; recreation and collaboration space; sports facilities and student accommodation.
