Chief Executive Officer
Sarah Beacock
Sarah has been at the Nuclear Institute since February 2017 and led the team to grow the membership and events programme in that period. With other changes such as a new publisher for Nuclear Future and a modernised governance system this has been a period of great change and development for the Institute towards a sustainable future.
Prior to becoming CEO Sarah worked in other membership bodies for over 25 years including the Energy Institute and Chartered Insurance Institute. Prior to that she began her career in the accreditation and assessment field with the Royal Society of Arts examinations board (now OCR) and also spent a period of four years as a freelance editor and consultant in the insurance field.
She has a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science and her 18 years in the energy industry have given her a worldwide experience and expertise in the skills needs required by all parts of the industry. She is a Fellow of the Energy Institute.

Stakeholder Engagement Manager
Andrew McIvor
Andy joined the NI Team in April 2016 to lead stakeholder engagement, including developing our company membership scheme. Andy has 30 years' experience in the skills and qualifications arena, working with a broad range of industries and partners to develop and implement professional standards, qualifications, and training and development programmes.
He has worked closely with the NI since January 2013, leading partnership activities with the National Skills Academy for Nuclear, including developing and managing the joint NI/NSAN apprenticeship and CPD programme approval process.

Richard Foxhall
Richard joined the NI earlier this year following nearly fifteen years in the nuclear sector working initially in site-based communications roles across five Magnox sites before joining Horizon Nuclear Power in 2011 as Stakeholder Relations Manager and latterly External Affairs Manager Wales.
On completion of a 5-year craft apprenticeship as an electrician, Richard worked in TV Broadcasting for 24 years, 17 as Senior Editor before a career change as Communication Officer at Trawsfynydd Site.
He is an active volunteer for over 20 years with two community groups working with young people and also President of 1310 (Eryri) Squadron of the RAF Air Cadets in Caernarfon.

Events Officer
Alison Hunt
Alison joined the NI in 2014 as Events Officer to provide support for the smooth running of the NI’s events.
Previously, Alison has worked for many years in the Financial publishing sector as Marketing & Circulation Manager on various trade journals. She has also worked in the volunteering sector to promote opportunities for volunteering.

Communities Officer
Amy Hitchcock
Amy joined the team in January 2019, as an Events Assistant Apprentice. She is responsible for helping the events team and learning about the industry. Amy works on her apprenticeship work whilst also being a key member of the Events Team. She is now focussing on the branches of the Nuclear Institute with assisting on their events and webinars.
She has A-Level qualifications in; Travel and Tourism, Geography and English Literature.

Finance Officer
Om Maharjan
Om Joined the NI in July 2018. He previously worked as a Finance Officer at Frances Taylor Foundation.
Om has a Masters degree in Accounting and Finance, and currently doing a Professional degree in AAT.

Sharif Rivera
Sharif has been responsible for the NI's accounting and finance function since July 2014.
He is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Sharif now works on a part-time basis.
