Sarah Beacock, Chief Executive Officer

Sarah became Chief Executive of the Nuclear Institute in February 2017 and brings a wealth of experience from leadership roles within professional membership organisations. She joined the Nuclear Institute from the Energy Institute (EI), where she was Skills and Capability Director responsible for membership, education, training, branches and international activities.

She joined the EI (formerly the Institute of Energy) in 2002 and on its merger with the Institute of Petroleum became Professional Affairs Director. In her more recent role she co-ordinated all the EI’s IT needs and also led the development of staff capability. Whilst at the EI she also developed four staffed international branches and oversaw the growth in membership and training activity. Prior to joining the EI Sarah worked for 15 years in assessment and accreditation schemes, mainly within examination bodies, professional institutions, universities and the commercial and financial services sectors. 

She has a degree in Environmental Science, a Certificate in the Assessment and Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning and is a Chartered Secretary.

Amanda MacMillan, Events Manager

With a background working at Horizon Nuclear Power, Amanda brings a strategic element to Nuclear Institute events, integrating them into the Nuclear Institute's business plan as well as developing new industry leads for sponsorship opportunities.

Andy McIvor, Stakeholder Engagement Manager

Andy joined the NI Team in April 2016 to lead stakeholder engagement, including developing our company membership scheme. Andy has 30 years' experience in the skills and qualifications arena, working with a broad range of industries and partners to develop and implement professional standards, qualifications, and training and development programmes. He has worked closely with the NI since January 2013, leading partnership activities with the National Skills Academy for Nuclear, including developing and managing the joint NI/NSAN apprenticeship and CPD programme approval process.

Sharif Rivera, Financial Controller

Sharif has been responsible for the Charity’s accounting and finance function since July 2014. He is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Sharif now works on a part-time basis.

Andrea Sipolis, Marketing & Communications Manager 

Andrea joined the team in May 2017 in the Marketing & Communications role. She previously worked in patent litigation, but has since transitioned into the communications field, having completed a BA in community engagement and postgraduate study in digital marketing strategy.

 Jabedur Rahman, Finance Officer

Jabedur joined the Nuclear Institute in August 2017 to assist the Financial Controller and carry out day to day tasks within the finance function. He previously worked as a Finance Assistant within a professional body for education and training. Having completed a degree in Accounting and Finance, Jabedur is currently building on his skills by completing the ACCA qualification.

Alison Hunt, Events Officer

Alison joined the NI in 2014 and is responsible for the administration around event booking processes. Alison has previously worked in the Financial Publishing Industry in Marketing/Circulation roles and also in the charity sector where she coordinated the promotion of volunteering opportunities.

Adriana Stucki, Professional Membership and Registration Officer

Adriana has been with the NI since February 2015 and is responsible for all Professional Membership queries and the Application processes. She previously worked as a PA and as a manager of volunteers and training.

Sally Dray, Membership and Education Officer

Sally joined in March 2017 to provide support to the team. She has now moved into therole of Membership and Education Officer, assisting with company memberships and organising the NI’s outreach activities. Sally previously worked for the Energy Institute as a marketing assistant and has recently completed her Master’s degree in history and politics.
