Our next event is our annual Young Speakers’ Competition, which is taking place on Tuesday 30 July at the offices of the competition sponsor, Doosan Babcock. It will start at 18:30, with refreshments available from 18:00.
Five finalists have been selected and each will give a short talk on their chosen topic, which this year include Small Modular Reactors, safety-critical steam supplies, the UK’s nuclear skills gap, chemochromic Pd-V205 hydrogen-sensitive coatings, and nuclear’s role in rural regeneration.
Four cash prizes totalling £700 will be awarded, with the winner also going through to represent Scotland at the National Final!
