The value of Membership and CPD to your Nuclear Career

This webinar is aimed at students, young people in their first jobs and those starting to advance their careers. The purpose is to demonstrate the importance of membership and Continuing Professional Development in the Nuclear Industry where Nuclear Safety is paramount. The Nuclear Institute is Nuclear Professionalism. With a key contribution to make in achieving Net Zero there will be increasing opportunities in all disciplines to work in the Nuclear Industry. Continuing excellence in Nuclear Professionalism will help to ensure that the Nuclear Industry develops safely.

Early next year there will be a follow up face to face event, giving the opportunity to meet others in the Nuclear Industry and provide guidance on how to get the most out of the Nuclear Institute to help with your career.

12.00   Introduction

Fanny Fouin (Chair NI NE branch) to give brief overview of the event and how it will run, how questions will be submitted etc.

12.10    Young People in the Nuclear Institute

Short videos from young people at the early stages of their Nuclear career.

12.20    The YGN (Young Generation Network) and YGN in the North East 

Rachael Matthews, who is the North East lead for the YGN, will follow on from her short video with an overview of the activities of the YGN both nationally and locally

12.30   Membership of NI

Andy McIvor (NI Membership Director) will describe the benefits of being a member of the NI and advise on the various routes to becoming a member.

12.45   CPD

Alan Davies, who advises on becoming chartered, will explain why Continuing Professional Development is particularly important in the nuclear industry and how it will help with the next career move

12.55   Questions, Summary and Close

Fanny Fouin will handle a couple of questions in the time available but all questions will be answered later by email or phone.
