About the employer:

The Environment Agency is responsible for regulating radioactive waste disposal across the nuclear industry in England. Our Radiological Monitoring and Assessment team manages radiological monitoring contracts and provides expert advice to assess the impact of radioactive discharges on the environment and public health.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical input for site regulation, waste management, and nuclear new build projects.
  • Evaluate and interpret monitoring results to assess environmental impacts.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and expert groups to develop guidance and systems for monitoring radioactive discharges.
  • Respond to incidents and ensure business continuity support.

Requirements:

  • Scientific Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in radiological monitoring and/or assessment.
  • Knowledge of relevant UK legislation and regulations.
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and react flexibly to evolving situations.
  • Full UK driving license for travel.
