The Nuclear Institute Western Branch 23rd Annual Dinner

On 26th March 2015 the Western Branch of the Nuclear Institute held its 23rd Annual Dinner. Undoubtedly, the highlight of 2015 at the NI Western Branch the dinner was held at the @Bristol Science Centre.

Welcome drinks and canapés were provided upon arrival while guests mingled amongst @Bristol’s ground floor exhibits. Once upstairs, guests were able to try out the equipment created specifically for the NI “Let there be Light!” schools workshop, being run by @Bristol. This year’s guest speaker was Roger Hardy, the Managing Director of Cavendish Nuclear, who enlightened and amused guests with anecdotes and lessons he has learnt from his time in the nuclear sector.

A raffle was held after dinner to raise money for the SW Children’s Hospice.  Many fantastic prizes were kindly donated by supporting companies enabling approximately £4,000 to be raised.  Kate Fisher from the SW Children’s Hospice thanked guests for their donations and gave an insight into a normal day at the hospice and how the money raised would be spent.

Overall the event was a great success, providing a social and networking opportunity and enabling the NIWB to continue to support the NI’s charitable objectives.
