NI Western Branch Dinner 2016

Western Branch Dinner 2016

The 2016 NI Western Branch annual dinner took place on 10th March. In our continued search for the perfect venue this year’s dinner was held at the Bristol Hotel on the Bristol waterfront, providing a relaxed environment in which members of the nuclear industry community were able to network and socialise with clients and contacts.

Prior to the event the NIWB held a successful speed mentoring event in conjunction with Women in Nuclear (WiN UK).

Dinner guests were treated with cocktails, canapes and jazz and subsequently raised almost £3,000 for this year’s charity, the Julian Trust, who looks after the homeless of Bristol and Bath. Many thanks to all companies who kindly donated raffle prizes for the event.

Our new NIWB chair, Anna Ellis, was joined on the top table by Mark Hartley (then) Engineering Director for EDF Energy Nuclear Generation, our after dinner speaker who shared insights about his experiences in nuclear past and present, as well as a look-ahead to the future. Neil Thomson, the new NI President also joined us on the top table and shared a few words with us.

Many thanks to all the companies who supported this event, we had a full house as ever, despite a difficult marketplace for some in our industry at present. Everyone seemed to enjoy the evening and we hope to host you again next year!
