Call for Assessors for Professional Membership

Support nuclear professionalism, give back to grow your industry, and fulfil your own CPD

Become an assessor member of the Nuclear Institute today and support a new generation of nuclear professionals in growing a higher culture of nuclear professionalism. Over the coming month we will be running training courses in London and Warrington for members who wish to become new assessors with the Nuclear Institute.

Volunteering as an assessor member will allow you to give something back to the industry while offering an engaging way to fulfil your own CPD. You will receive full training and a certificate to demonstrate your skills and commitment to current and future employers.

For retired members of the Institute, volunteering as an assessor is a great way to fulfil your CPD requirements and maintain your professional registration with the Science Council or UK Engineering Council. Your time involvement can be as little or as large as you like, and can be carried out purely from home.

Clive Smith, Chair of the Nuclear Institute Membership Committee, spoke positively about the vital role volunteers play in the nuclear industry:

“I’ve had a great career in the nuclear sector with much help from many people to advance myself and improve my own professionalism. Volunteering to assist in the assessment of people joining the Nuclear Institute gives me the chance to give something back and to help others advance their careers.”

Professional members of the Nuclear Institute, or learned members with professional membership of another Institute (with or without registration with the Engineering or Science Council), can assess individual applications, CPD yearly returns, or apprenticeship schemes against the requirements of the Nuclear Delta® and Engineering or Science Council requirements.

Help us to grow and maintain nuclear professionalism in the UK by becoming an assessor member at NI. NI members who are registered with the Science or Engineering Councils are particularly encouraged to apply.

Our upcoming training dates include:

  • 11th May in Warrington
