Non-professionals can become members of the Nuclear Institute too. All learned grades of membership do not require formal professional qualifications and are open to anyone with an interest in the nuclear industry.

Our basic membership for nuclear professionals, Associates get access to the insightful training events and networking opportunities provided by the Nuclear Institute. Through branch events, you'll meet mentors and friends with valuable connections to the industry.

Events are held throughout the year where you'll learn more about specific areas of the nuclear industry - at branch, national, and international levels, where you'll hear from industry experts and innovators on the front line.

Not only will you meet industry professionals in your chosen field, but you'll be on the pulse of the latest industry trends through the Nuclear Future journal.

Get support from other nuclear professionals through branches and networks

You'll become part of a regional branch, introducing you to other like-minded nuclear professionals also looking to develop their careers, and you'll be able to join our networks, the YGN (Young Generation Network) and/or WiN UK (Women in Nuclear UK).

Progress to professional membership

From Associate membership, you can progress to our Professional Member grades, Member and Fellow. These grades are peer-assessed, and they recognise exceptional professionalism and a significant contribution to the nuclear industry.

Members are entitled to use the post-nominals 'MNucI', and Fellows 'FNucI'.

Discounted membership for students and apprentices

If you're a student or apprentice, you're eligible for our Affiliate membership. This gives you access to the benefits of an associate membership (with the exception of the Nuclear Future magazine) for a discounted rate. Please use this form to sign up for affiliate membership, choosing 'Affiliate' from the list, you will need to provide supoprting evidence of your student or apprenticeship status to be eligible.
