MentorSET – Helping to create an inclusive, diverse workforce

Why Mentoring?

Women in Nuclear UK (WiN UK) together with The Women's Engineering Society (WES) are re-launching the MentorSET scheme to provide a key vehicle to support the attraction, retention and progression of women.  Mentoring is a crucial part of the strategy to increase the numbers of women into STEM centric industries and support gender equality.

Why MentorSET?

The MentorSET programme has a number of unique benefits:

  • A fully individually hand matched managed scheme, supporting strong sustainable relationships
  • 'Career mentoring’ providing a breadth of cross-company experience at multiple career stages
  • 'Portable’, so women can remain with their mentor even if changing roles/companies/industries
  • Offers 'reverse' mentoring, enabling senior managers the opportunity to understand challenges faced by minority groups
  • ‘recognised and respected’ by multiple key STEM ambassadors
  • Pay it forward! – Our Mentees become our future mentors!
  • Established - existing database with existing mentors
