Join the Nuclear Institute and The International Society of Multiphysics on 18 October in Manchester for the 2nd annual conference.  

Explore the latest advances in mathematical modelling and simulation behaviour of nuclear materials, reactor safety and environmental effects as well as simulation advancements and deployment of techniques into nuclear science and engineering. 

You will hear from leading authorities at the forefront of advancing innovation in Nuclear Materials, Reactor Safety and Environmental Modelling.

The Programme

Registration and networking will be held from 9am - 9.30am, followed by a welcome from the Chair, Professor Moji Moatamedi of The Multiphysics Society.  

Opening keynote sessions:

Dr. Paul Howarth, Managing Director of the National Nuclear Laboratory
The importance and direction of modelling and simulation direction in our global Nuclear Industry.

Dr. Akira Yamaguchi, Professor in the University of Tokyo
Nuclear safety and the role of simulation and risk analyses

The three principle topics that will follow in the panel sessions are:

Panel Session One:  Nuclear Materials Modelling
The focus will be on exploring the materials used in the nuclear industry, covering both new materials and behaviours under extreme conditions
