Volunteering with NI Cumbria

The Cumbria Branch of the Nuclear Institute is looking for eager volunteers to get involved with organising events as part of the branches annual events programme. Our annual programme covers a broad spectrum of events ranging from our free annual public education lecture programme, student bursary competition through to our prestigious annual dinner.

Why get involved?

Involvement with our branch events team provides an excellent opportunity to build your networks within the nuclear industry and gain evidence to support applications for professional registration. For those interested in taking their involvement further the opportunity exists to progress to the main branch committee and perhaps even to a volunteer role nationally with the NI.

What could getting involved allow me to do? Our events programme is just one of many areas of activities that the branch is involved with. After an initial period with the events committee, the opportunity exists for progression to other roles within the branch and which could eventually lead to a role with the Nuclear Institute nationally.

Examples of some of the roles within the branch are:

  • Branch Chair
  • Branch Events Sub-Committee Chair
  • Treasurer Education & Training Representative
  • Secretary
  • Dinner Lead

How do I get involved?

If you’re interested in getting involved then additional details can be found here or by getting in touch with Matt Aukett by e-mail at Events.Cumbria@nuclearinst.com or by phone 01946 788090.
