YGN Chair - Michael Bray

Michael is a real estate lawyer who has been working in the nuclear industry since he qualified with Burges Salmon in 2008, advising on a wide variety of nuclear real estate law from interface arrangements with site licence companies and promoting surplus land for development/disposal, to nuclear new build as part of the current nuclear renaissance. 

Michael acts primarily for the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (having previously undertaken a twelve-month in-house secondment with their legal team), Magnox Limited and Research Sites Restoration Limited, but has also worked closely with other nuclear site licence companies, including Dounrey Site Restoration Limited and Sellafield Limited. 

Michael has volunteered and attended many YGN events over the years, but first helped to organise the 2014 Legal and Commercial Seminar which Michael hosted at Burges Salmon’s London Office.  Michael joined the YGN Committee in 2014 and will again be a joint event lead for the 2015 Legal and Commercial Seminar, and will be the sole event lead and host for the 2015 YGN Networking Event to be held at Burges Salmon’s Bristol Office. 

Michael is also in charge of the YGN’s engagement with UK Universities and is actively launching a number of new initiatives aimed at increasing undergraduate involvement in and exposure to the nuclear industry.
