NI Members eligible for the CSCS Professionally Qualified Person (PQP) card

Many NI members, and particularly those working on projects involving construction activities, are familiar with Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) cards. It’s the card that provides proof that individuals working on construction sites have the appropriate training and qualifications for the job they do on site.

It is less well known that members of CSCS recognised professional bodies can apply for the CSCS Professionally Qualified Person (PQP) card. The NI is CSCS recognised and Members and Fellows can use their NI membership to prove their skills rather than achievement of an NVQ or other equivalent qualifications.

Obtaining a CSCS card through a professional body membership is especially useful for those who currently hold CSCS cards under Industry Accreditation, often referred to as Grandfather rights.  Current Industry Accreditation cardholders who are NI Members or Fellows can transition onto a CSCS PQP card without having to complete any further qualifications.

The CSCS website provides further information about NI member eligibility for the CSCS Professionally Qualified Person (PQP) card and how to apply.
