Nuclear and the Green Revolution

 Nuclear and the Green Revolution

With the UK government committing to ambitious carbon reduction targets the challenge of the next decade will be solely around the drive to implement efficient, cost effective green power to the UK network. Small Modular reactors hope to address some of the cost and lead time challenges often associated with Nuclear New build, whilst providing a stable source of zero-emission energy to supplement the work done by other green technologies. Join us at Midlands YGN for an evening with leaders from the sector, looking at current progress on getting a UK SMR on the ground in the UK. This will include emphasis on the opportunities this can provide the midlands region; and a look ahead to the challenges and milestones of the next few years that need to be met to make this ambition a reality.

Confirmed speakers:

Richard Deakin FNucI - Director, low cost nuclear challenge; UKRI
Craig Lester - Deputy Director, Advanced Nuclear Innovation; BEIS
Tom Samson - Chief Executive Officer; UK SMR Consortium
