The Nuclear Sector Deal was published in June 2018 and is part of the UK Government’s Industrial Strategy. The deal builds on the historical partnership between the government and industry that has helped the UK become a world leader in new build, generation, fuel production, waste management, decommissioning, regulation and R&D. The Deal sets out the vision for growth of the nuclear industry in the UK with closer collaboration between the industry and Government. The current young generation of nuclear professionals will be the leaders in delivering the Deal and realising the benefits of such a significant government commitment to the future of Nuclear in the UK.

This year’s highly anticipated YGN annual seminar will outline the Deal and discuss its implementation through a series of presentations and panel sessions from high profile industry leaders, many of whom had an active role in scoping and will be closely involved in its delivery.

The 2018 YGN Annual Dinner will follow the seminar. The highly anticipated highlight of the YGN calendar will be held in the grand setting of York’s National Railway Museum. The Dinner is an opportunity for attendees to network and socialise, and raise money for charity.
