Radioactive Waste Management in the UK

The safe management of radioactive wastes is a key enabler for the UK nuclear industry as well as many other non-nuclear sectors. This webinar will present an overview of current radioactive waste management infrastructure in the UK, and some of the initiatives underway to tackle the various risks and opportunities to better waste management that exist.

Head of Legacy & Waste Issues, Radioactive Substances Regulation, Environment Agency. FIEMA CEnv, and Director & Trustee of the Nuclear Institute.

Her career in the nuclear industry spans the AWE, UKAEA and the Environment Agency. She is a member of the UK Radioactive Substances Policy Group and the NEA’s Radioactive Waste Management Committee.

Juliet has a PhD in Geochemistry and is a Chartered Environmentalist. Juliet is the Trustee responsible for overseeing the work of the RadWaste Special Interest Group within the Nuclear Institute.
