NI AGM

Tim graduated from St Catherine’s College, Oxford University in 1976 with MA, DPhil (Oxon). He is a Chartered Civil Engineer, Fellow of the RSA and Member of the British Computer Society as well as having been awarded a CBE for his services to the energy sector. He was made an Honorary Fellow of the Nuclear Institute in 2012.

As well as being Chairman of Nuclear Risk Insurers and a non-executive director of Horizon Nuclear Power, Tim has held other recent board roles with Arup and the European Investment Bank. 

He was a former member of the expert Advisory Committee of the South Australia Royal Commission on the Nuclear Fuel Cycle and a former Senior Adviser to the UK Secretary of State for Climate Change and Secretary of State for Energy. He was also at one point the Expert Chair of the Office for Nuclear Development in the Department of Energy and Climate Change and conducted a review of the Nuclear Installations Inspectorate.  

He was former Chairman and founder of KPMG’s Global Infrastructure and Projects Group and held board positions with Anglian Water Group and London First’s Infrastructure Commission. He is a trustee of the London Symphony Chorus Endowment Fund and a member of the Technology Steering Group of the Royal Opera House. He is also a Visiting Professor at University College London’s Energy Policy Institute in Adelaide, South Australia and in their Infrastructure Investment and Finance faculty in UCL London.

Other senior non-executive positions at the DfES, DEFRA and the CBI followed a successful career with Arthur Andersen & Co (now Accenture), Chase Manhattan in New York and SG Warburg & Co in London and New York.
