This article explains what programme management is and what it can bring to nuclear new build. The author maintains that, with the appropriate application of programme management, the probability of flawlessly delivering the desired outcomes for stakeholders (including specifically investors/owners) will increase substantially. However, he stresses that programme management is not a panacea for flawless delivery and it requires many vignettes which must be applied consistently to an organisation that is both committed to delivery and has, within its core values, learning.
