In this article, GDF SUEZ outlines its energy-mix strategy. This mix includes nuclear energy, as well as renewable energy, and the Group considers that this is the best solution for guaranteeing power supply at a competitive price and contributing to a reduction in the release of greenhouse gas. The Group wants to pursue its investments in nuclear power stations in order to operate them and sell the energy they generate. Today, nuclear accounts for 17% of GDF SUEZ electricity generation worldwide, behind gas-fired power stations (combined-cycle gas turbines and cogeneration), conventional thermal power stations and renewable energy.
