Author: Cadoux-Hudson, Humphrey
Co-Author(s):

Since acquiring British Energy last year, EDF is now one of the UK’s largest energy companies as well as the UK’s principal nuclear generator, with eight existing power stations. As a new combined company, the focus continues to be on the safe and reliable operation of these vital nuclear stations. The company intends to invest in them to secure their safety, improve their performance and seek to extend their lives. Taking a lead in the development of new nuclear power in the United Kingdom, EDF is bolstering one of the Group’s major strategic aims to be a leader in the global nuclear revival. EDF's task is to help ensure that we have energy that is secure, clean and affordable. In this way, the company will help keep the lights on in the UK in the years and decades to come.
