Our People

The Nuclear Institute is made up of our HQ Team, our Board of Trustees, Committees and our Communities, which include a thriving network of Regional Branches, the Young Generation Network (YGN), Women in Nuclear UK (WiNUK), and our Volunteer network.

Our small HQ Team, headed by CEO Sarah Beacock, performs the essential job of enabling the day-to-day running of the Nuclear Institute, including looking after administration, membership, events coordination, marketing and finance of the business. They also act as a hub for communication across the Institute and externally.

The Board of Trustees is responsible for overseeing the company business model, values and objectives. The Board works directly with the HQ Team and also delegates some responsibilities to Committees.

The Nuclear Institute also comprises a number of Communities, including 10 Branches, which operate throughout the regions of the UK. The Branches are run by individual committees. with support from the Board and HQ Team. Each Branch coordinates its own events and plays a key role in building a community of nuclear professionals.

The enterprising Young Generation Network (YGN) is run nationally for members under 37. Our Women in Nuclear (WiNUK) network, focsued on equality and diversity, is also national in scope. Volunteers are also a key part of the Nuclear Institute family and are involved in many different areas of the Institute’s work and activities.
