Hinton Award

Hinton Medal: Excellence & Achievement Award

The Hinton Medal was instituted in 1978 for demonstrated achievement in the nuclear field. Today the medal is awarded to any individual who has demonstrated excellence and achievement in nuclear science or engineering with a strong commitment to nuclear safety. The recipient may be or may not be a member of the Nuclear Institute.

The award is £250 prize money and a signed NI commemorative certificate. The individual is invited without obligation to give a prestigious public lecture.

The selection and decision on the award is undertaken by the NI Board of Trustees.
