IMechE - Structural Integrity Standards: The Future of British Integrity Codes

The Institution of Mechanical Engineers warmly welcomes Nuclear Institute members to this upcoming event in February!

As new developments like Hinkley C take place, there has been significant change in the standards used for nuclear projects in the UK, with R6 and RSE-M being used concurrently.

By attending this one day seminar, engineers will gain a thorough appreciation and keep abreast of the latest development of R6 and BS7910 structural integrity standards codes and understand the differences between RSE-M and R6. Attendees will also be able to learn and/or update the skills required for structural integrity assessments to the current range of codes and be aware of the potential direction of future structural integrity assessment codes.

Key topics:

  • Hear from the Office for Nuclear Regulation on the UK regulatory expectations for components
  • Gain insight from EDF on using the RSE-M Code for surveillance and in-service inspection
  • Learn about the recent developments for R6 and its future from the key developers and EDF-Energy
  • Learn about the recent developments for BS7910 and its future from TWI Ltd
  • How to harmonise nuclear codes and standards for mechanical components with Amec Foster Wheeler
  • Hear best practice from industry leaders on implementing these codes for ongoing assessments
  • Identify current and future training needs for your organisation
