The next Central England Branch evening lecture will take place on Wednesday 28 March 2018.

Mice have been used in genetic research for over a hundred years. Early researchers relied on spontaneously occurring variants to map new genes. The frequency of occurrence of natural mutations is very low therefore geneticists have developed ever more efficient and precise ways of changing the mouse genome in order to investigate gene function.

This lecture will follow the story of mouse mutagenesis from radiation and chemical mutagenesis to the new genome editing techniques and the exciting opportunities they offer genetic science.
