About NI South East

About Us

We are the South East Branch of the Nuclear Institute (NI) for all those in the area working in or interested in the nuclear industry.

Our aims are to facilitate continued learning, connect you with others who share interests in the nuclear sector, and give you opportunities to get involved in our activities and events.

Comittee

The South East branch provides opportunities for people who have an interest in nuclear activities in the UK to explore these interests in the form of technical visits. These visits provide a powerful insight into the operation of nuclear facilities as well as providing useful networking opportunities.  The branch has arranged various technical visits to Bradwell, Sizewell A, Sizewell B, Dungeness, Flamanville and La Hague reprocessing plant.

The branch typically provides two technical visits a year whilst also being involved in other activities including the YGN Speaking Competition. The Branch aims to collaborate with other regional NI branches, as well as UK, European and other institutions.

The branch is made up of NI members in the local area and is run by a group of volunteers who form the Branch Committee.  It was founded in 2008 and the committee has grown from a single chairperson to an enthusiastic committee.  The branch committee is a dynamic process and we always welcome feedback from NI members as well as any contributions to committee activities.
